Using inventory variables for practical biodiversity assessment in plantation stands
نویسندگان
چکیده
Aim of study: Practically and simply assessing biodiversity by using inventory variables in four types forest plantation stands (mixed pure) including species such are chestnut, blue gum maritime pine.
Area Northwest Portugal Vale do Sousa (14,840 ha), which is 97% covered with forests.
Material methods: Simulated data, from 90-year stand-level management planning, were considered three indicators: tree (number different origin—native or exotic), mean diameter at breast height (DBH), shrub biomass. Two regeneration (fully regenerated seed fully resprouting), site quality conditions also considered.
Main results: Mean scores varied between very low (10.13) pure on lowest-quality sites seed, (29.85) mixed a dominance pine, best-quality resprouting. Site type significantly affected all dominated pine chestnut stands, while less gum.
Research highlights: The indicators cover the major aspects allow assessment over time. findings relevant for conservation fire protection management.

متن کاملStudy of plantation effect on richness of herbaceous in forest area using biodiversity index in north of Iran
The depletion of forest in developing countries due to extended pastures, agricultural land, fuel wood and etc. is a serious concern. Therefore planting trees for reforestation and extended forest area is a essential assignment. Forest plantation with a basic criterion affects to understory plant diversity. This effects may make some species absent or appear. The objective of this study is to a...

The increasing growth of literature in biodiversity presents challenges to users who need to discover pertinent information in an efficient and timely manner. In response, text mining techniques offer solutions by facilitating the automated discovery of knowledge from large textual data. An important step in text mining is the recognition of concepts via their linguistic realisation, i.e., term...

data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...
Water Quality Trading Using Tradable Permit in Biodiversity of River and Assessment of Efficiency of Expense
Background & Aims of the Study: Due to one-way flow of water in rivers Guilan, pollution trade theory and the system of Ratio-Trade (TRS) and Streeter - Phelps equation has been used. This system, with a view of the river self- purification and how the distribution and transport of pollutants, determined Ratio-Trade system (TRS) between the units and using this method offers optimal pat...
